Good Good Study]

    eRumor - [Good Good Study]

A real example of the eRumor as it has appeared on the Internet:

----------Whether  you like Bill Gates or not...this is pretty
cool. Here's some advice Bill Gates recently dished out
at a high school speech about 11 things they did  not
learn in school. He talks about how  feel-good,
politically correct teaching has  created a full
generation of kids with no  concept of reality and how
this concept  sets them up for failure in the real
    world.

         RULE 1
Life  is not fair - get used to it.

         RULE 2
The  world won't care about your self-esteem. The world
will expect you to accomplish something BEFORE you  feel
         good about yourself.

         RULE 3
You  will NOT make 40 thousand dollars a year right out
of high school. You won't be a vice president with
car phone, until you earn  both.

         RULE 4
If  you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a
         boss. He doesn't have tenure.

         RULE 5
Flipping burgers is not beneath your dignity. Your
grandparents had a different word for burger flipping
         they
         called it Opportunity.

         RULE 6
If  you mess up,it's not your parents' fault, so don't
whine about your mistakes, learn from them.

         RULE 7
Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as
they are now. They got that way from paying  your bills,
cleaning your clothes and  listening to you talk about
how cool  you are. So before you save the rain forest
from the parasites of your parent's generation, try
delousing the closet in your own room.

         RULE 8
Your  school may have done away with winners and losers,
but life has not. In some schools they have  abolished
failing grades and they'll  give you as many times as
you want to  get the right answer. This doesn't bear the
slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.

         RULE 9
Life  is not divided into semesters. You don't get
summers off and very few employers are interested in
helping you find yourself. Do that on your own  time.

         RULE 10
Television is NOT real life. In real life people
actually have to leave the coffee shop and go to  jobs.

         RULE 11
Be  nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for
         one.

    The Truth
This is not from Bill Gates.  It's an excerpt from the book "Dumbing Down our Kids" by educator Charles Sykes.  It is a list of eleven things you did not learn in school and directed at high school and college grads.

  • 1.Why don't you keep your feet on the ground instead of your head in the sky?

2.We're a unit, not a one-man show. The name on the front of the shirt is more important than the one on the back.

    3.Gotta do a detour,bonny lad.Celebrity in peril.

    4.You're worth it./You deserve it.

  • When will the moon be clear and bright? With a cup of wine in my hand, I ask the blue sky.
I don't know what season it would be in the heavens on this night.
I'd like to ride the wind to fly home.
Yet I fear the crystal and jade mansions are much too high and cold for me.
    Dancing with my moon-lit shadow,
It does not seem like the human world.

The moon rounds the red mansion Stoops to silk-pad doors,
Shines upon the sleepless Bearing no grudge,
Why does the moon tend to be full when people are apart?
People may have sorrow or joy, be near or far apart,
The moon may be dim or bright, wax or wane,
This has been going on since the beginning of time.
May we all be blessed with longevity Though far apart, we are still able to share the beauty of the moon together.

PS:When I read this english snippet first time,I really don't know it is translated from a classical chinese poem.My god,I can't read any aesthetic feeling in this english snippet.

  • During one of her daily classes, a teacher trying to teach good manners, asked her students the following question: "Michael, if you were on a date having dinner with a nice young lady, how would you tell her that you have to go to the bathroom?"
Michael said, "Just a minute I have to go pee."
The teacher responded by saying, "That would be rude and impolite. What about you Sherman, how would you say it?"
Sherman said, "I am sorry, but I really need to go to the bathroom. I'll be right back."
"That's better, but it's still not very nice to say the word bathroom at the dinner table. And you, little Edward, can you use your brain for once and show us your good manners?"
"I would say: Darling, may I please be excused for a moment? I have to shake hands with a very dear friend of mine, whom I hope to introduce you to after dinner."
    The teacher fainted...

    IMEI码 - [Good Good Study]

Good Good Study]
